My work is inspired by the eternal life and beauty of the spirit. To accentuate the different stages/aspects of the spirit – I like to use mixed media for my art. For paintings I use charcoal, pastel, acrylics and oil colors, and for my jewelry pieces I use found objects, organic materials, gemstones and metal mainly copper. When I start creating I imagine the finished piece, I try not to surrender my creativity to any boundaries; therefore I always look for the organic and natural way to resolve my piece, hence letting my subconscious bring my jewelry/painting to life. For my jewelry – the reason why I like to use copper and not silver or gold, is because copper has healing properties and so as the gemstones I use. I would like to think that by someone wearing a piece I made, some kind of natural healing will happen to them. The same thing goes for my paintings, even though I am not using any healing materials per say, I do think about how can I create a painting what will inspire and create healing.
